ACBA 2016 New Attorney Boot Camp

The Alameda County Bar Association's two-day New Attorney Boot Camp will be held on Saturday, January 30th, from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, and Sunday, January 31st, from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. The New Attorney Boot Camp is designed specifically to jump start your legal career. Saturday will begin with a session on conflicts of interest, confidentiality, time keeping, trust accounts, malpractice insurance, professionalism, etc. before breaking into three tracks - 1) Civil Litigation, 2) Criminal, and 3) Transactional.

Prudential 1L Summer Internship Program

NAPABA is pleased to partner with Prudential Financial Inc. (Prudential) to provide a meaningful summer internship opportunity for a highly-motivated first-year law student. Through this partnership, NAPABA will select one student to join the 2016 summer law intern class at Prudential for a 10-week internship at Prudential’s Newark, New Jersey, offices with a stipend of approximately $10,000.

Volunteers Needed for ABA Law Student Division Region 9 Client Counseling Competition

This coming February 13-14, 2016, UC Hastings College of Law is hosting the ABA Law Student Division Region 9 Client Counseling Competition. This year’s topic is Criminal Law and Procedure and 12 teams are expected to compete. We are looking for attorneys, judges, and counselors to judge the preliminary rounds of the competition on Saturday February 13, 2016from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Reed Smith/Kaiser Permanente 1L Diversity Fellowship Program

The Reed Smith/Kaiser Permanente Diversity Fellowship Program provides an award in the amount of $5,000 and a 2016 summer associate position to a diverse, first-year law student who has demonstrated strong academic scholarship, dedication to community service and/or leadership, and an understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
